A company that performs textile converting buys or handles the greige goods (unfinished fabrics from mills) and contracts them out to finishing plants to have them finished, dyed and or printed, in order to turn them into finished products. They may also buy yarn and have it knitted, dyed and converted to fabrics. Some textile converting companies may buy imported fabrics from other countries and have them converted into finished textiles ready for production; others textile converting companies deal exclusively in American made textiles. Textile converting companies might handle only man-made textiles or natural textiles, or they may be capable of converting either. Many textile converting companies sell their converted textiles wholesale.
