If you need help finding counseling services for yourself or a family member, then you might want to consider contacting a social and human services agency. Social and human services agencies often have a variety of counseling services that they can offer. This not only includes getting mental health counseling for children and adults, but also counseling services for welfare, rent compensation, and adoption. They also frequently offer workers rights services, help people find jobs, and get people the money that they need to live when they are having problems making ends meet. Most of these agencies are non-profits. The advantage of using a non-profit organization is that you can get the adult and children counseling services that you need from an experience agent without spending a lot of money. Some agencies have a sliding payment scale that allows you to pay according to your means. If you have a very low income, then you might not need to pay the agency anything. If you make enough money, though, they might expect some level of compensation so that they can continue to offer their assistance to others in your community. When you contact the organization, ask them how long they have been in business. Those with several years of experience should have agents who know the details of employee rights, adoption, welfare application assistance, and family counseling. When you find a social and human service agency that seems to meet your needs, be sure to write down their contact info, location, and business hours so that you can contact them in the future if you decide to use their services.
